Low-E (low-emissivity) glass is designed to minimize the amount of infrared and ultraviolet light that comes through your glass, without minimizing the amount of light that enters your home. Low-E glass has a microscopically thin coating that is transparent and reflects heat.
Energy Efficiency Low-E glass helps keep heat inside during the winter and outside during the summer, reducing heating and cooling costs. This is because the coating reflects interior temperatures back inside, keeping your home more comfortable. Reduced UV Damage By blocking most of the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays, Low-E glass helps protect your furniture, carpets, and curtains from fading and damage over time. Lower HVAC Costs Because Low-E glass helps maintain a consistent temperature, your heating and cooling systems don't have to work as hard, which can lead to lower energy bills and extend the life of your HVAC system.
