The Sea to Summit Premium Silk Sleeping Bag Liner is an ultralight and compact silk sleeping bag liner for backpacking, camping, and travel. Made from luxurious, premium AA Grade, ripstop silk with comfort stretch panels along the side to accommodate different sleep positions. The liner increases the thermal performance (by adding a few degrees of warmth), and extends the life of sleeping bags. It can also be used alone as hygienic bedding when traveling in hotels and hostels. A sleeping bag liner is a surprisingly useful addition to the old gear bag. Putting it inside a sleeping bag makes the bag a little bit warmer, and it also helps keep the bag clean, which helps prolong the life of the bag. I have also used this with just a down throw (or a woobie and a throw) when it was too warm for my sleeping bag, but too cool to sleep with no covers at all. The material is soft, and I never noticed the stitching, so it's super-comfy. The mummy style comes with a part that goes in the hood, so not only do you get the benefit of a little extra insulation around the head, but it also helps keep the dirt and oils from your hair off the bag (or sleeping pad, if you're not using a bag).I'm a natural fiber kind of guy, and while this is not 100% silk, that's a good thing. It has Lycra panels along the side, so it will stretch, not tear, when you move around. It's well made, machine washable, and comes with its own zippered stuff sack (ditch the sack and put it in your sleeping bag's stuff sack to save a little weight—16 g—on the trail).I don't go camping without my bag liner. It's a great product that does exactly what it's supposed to.
