I ordered this bass for two reasons; price and quality of previous Ktone purchases. The pick-ups are the large soap-bar type and the fit of these pick-ups leaves uneven space around them. Through contact with Ktone I found out that these pick-ups are a change from pick-ups that did not work properly and he was having trouble fitting them. The one you see in the top picture is the first conversion and you can see that the bridge pick-up is crooked. He had two more conversions one of those received many scuff marks during the conversion process and at the time he was in the process of painting some instruments black so he repainted the front edge of that one with the black resulting in a tri-color sunburst. By chance that is the one I received, he offered to exchange it but I decided to keep it for one of a kind value, I will add pick-up rings to cover the gap. A jig has been created for pick-up installation on the newer guitars so future customers will receive perfectly aligned pick-ups. The bottom picture is one of the newer models and you can see the selector switch is antique white while the top picture is like the guitar I received having a brite white knob. Regardless of which color knob you get or if there may be a gap around the pick-up; these can be fixed for $10 in any color you chose by unscrewing the knob and using a screwdriver, these pick-ups sound great.
