I looked for a really long time for just the right light fixture for our stairway and hallway. I wanted something that would give off sufficient light but didn't stick out too far and had a nice, classic look. I was willing to pay anything! These lights look great and were a great price too. We used a different bulb - we chose a large round one and it looks great but you can use any style you wish and it would look great. I wish there were more types in this line and I would buy them - flushmounts would be great. Highly recommend.
