The product is prevention, not a cureI have used this Moisture barrier purchased from Amazon for several years. I am totally incontinent and this cream over Sarna Sensative used daily has kept my skin clear and free from diaper rash. I strongly recommend this product. This barrier ointment is a jem. Before going on, I'd like to share my story with you. I've been totally incontinent for the past 3 years. I always had a rash in the "gentlemen's department" for most of that time. Earlier this year I got a small tube of Coloplast's Critic-Aid ointment for mild to severe incontinence. It worked for about a month but then I developed another bacterial infection that was difficult to resolve. I began to wonder if there was something else out there that would work better. I needed to stay one step ahead of any infection that would come my way. I called Coloplast and a representative suggested this ointment. Unlike Coloplast's Critic-Aid, which contains dimethicone and zinc oxide as inactive ingredients, this Coloplast Baza ointment contains a small amount of benzethonium chloride as an inactive ingredient, which is an antibacterial agent. I do not think Coloplast Baza Clear is the best line of defense for diaper rash in infants and toddlers but if you have a severe incontinence problem like myself, this is a Godsend. WHEN ORDERING, MAKE SURE THE NATIONAL DRUG CODE ON THE TOP OF THE TUBE READS 11701-048-14. Coloplast has many different ointments and you may not be ordering the correct one. Thanks for reading this. Cheers! P.S. This product does not have vitamins in it as such but it does have cod liver oil which has its own naturally occuring vitamins. It is about 97% petrolatum with benzethonium chloride, a dye and a fragrance.
