The Standard Chessboard Carrying Bag provides a high level of protection for your chessboard. The exterior of the bag is made out of a high grade canvas that shields your chessboard from scratches, dirt and water. It has two reinforced nylon handles and a single zippered pocket to store your chess equipment. The House of Staunton Logo is silkscreened on the front of the bag. MEDIUM — For Chessboards Less Than 25.5" x 25.5" x 1.5"(For reference: the tournament boards are 1/2 inch thick, and the Traditional boards are 3/4 inch thick. Pieces shown are the 4.0" Staunton Popular Chess Set.)

Was skeptical at first, but zipper is well-shielded from chessboard inside. I would prefer a design that uses no zippers, but none are available.The zipper inside the bag appears to be recessed into the fabric and is visible only in a very narrow slot. Any chessboard with a flat edge should be safe from contact with the zipper inside the bag. A chessboard with a beveled edge such as my vintage Drueke No. 64 might possibly have the zipper contact the leading edge. I am not willing to put my Drueke board into this bag. For my other two wooden chessboards which have flat edges, this chessboard carrying bag is fine.
