I was shocked upon my first listen of this album. The black metal vocals and harshness of previous releases are gone completely on this release, which frankly turned me off at first. It also pissed me off since I bought the deluxe box set. Now, having had a chance to digest this and now revisit this release without the initial shock factor I have found that this is a very strong album. Reminds me of how I felt listening to the new CODE release "MUT". Stylistically a BIG change into more of a melancholic post rock vibe but not a DUD by any means if taken for what it is rather than what it is not. I would like to see them at least incorporate those black metal elements back into the next album since this is what I grew to love about them.
