I purchased this to use as my primary box in my boat. My current Gander Mountain brand tackle bag (with 6-3600 trays), which is about 10 years old, was getting two small and I found myself needing extra tackle trays and swapping. The layout if this does in fact work better in my boat then my old one. The profile appears smaller because the trays lay long ways instead of stacking or aligning with the taller side going up or down.I also like that there are more pockets then my previous box. And having the 3 mesh pockets on the back is helpful for keeping my stringers. The one downside is the size of some of the pockets. The zipper pockets are only about 1"-2" deep.The other problem I have is the plastic bait binder bags they have in the front pocket. In theory, it is a great idea, as I greatly enjoy the bait binders I have. However, the plastic binder bags that come with the tackle box do not fit in the pocket unless folded in half. Causing a bit of a headache if the packages the baits come in are a little larger to begin with.The other thing I noticed is the thickness of the 3600 trays that come with it. I was hoping to just pull the 6 trays from my last box and drop them in and not have to swap out lures into new trays. But my old trays are "Plano" brand and about 1/4 inch deeper. This made for a snug fit. I was fortunate enough that some of my other trays were the same generic brand used by Evolution Outdoors ("field and stream" use the exact same 3600 trays in there 4-packs, just put there logo on it)This definitely works well as my primary box in my boat and with my old box and trash used for specialty, species specific tackle or things I don't always need (musky, lures I hardly use, extra spools of line).Enjoy it a great deal, and fits better in my boat for storage. Haven't tested in rain yet to see if it absorbs water, but am hopeful it will do well.Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of storage in the side pockets. Should have gone for the 3700 size.Also, Cabela's and Bass pro shop have this exact same bag in there lineup. New for 2019. It has a lighter gray camo and neon green with the Cabela's . But, as with most stuff they charge more and give you only 2 trays with it. (Cabela's/BPS = $99.99)So I'd advise buying on amazon, but can see and look at one in person before you buy. (did not know until after I purchased and got the Cabela's\BPS Catalog for spring 2019)Hope this helps anyone looking into this tackle bag.Little big for my kickboat but now I have room for all my gearOnly complaint is I wish the straps and clips to take on and off easierDid not show up with the three plastic traysNice tackle bag. Could use some stiffening so it doesnt collapse when you pull out an organizer but all in all worth the moneyPlenty of storage and the material handles the elements well. Getting another one to store my fly rod tubes for travel. Only improvement would be having a few zipper pockets on the top.Great bag as far as space and organization but both straps have broken off already and I have only had it about a month. You don’t expect that to happen when you spend this much on a bagAbsolutely fantastic. Fits everything very well. Lite weight. But very strong. Love it. Perfect for a boat bag.Perfect gift. Exactly what it said it would be. I will definitely be ordering again.
