Very nice looking!!! So love the red!This briefcase is even better than I thought. Very high-quality, very durable, and I love the fact that it comes with it’s very own dolly that it can attach to. And a bonus, it comes with a weatherproof protective cover to go over it to protect from snow and rain. Definitely recommend! I have not found any other briefcase that can top this one. It is literally the best!I get so many compliments when I roll in to the office with this bag. It looks very elegant and is more stylish than the black nylon bags. It does not hold a lot of items--I can fit my laptop with sleeve and some file folders, calendar, writing pad, etc... without any trouble but it starts getting packed if I try to put a book or two in there. The outside pocket holds my wallet, sunglasses, and keys. Inside pockets for pencils, pens, cell phone, and small makeup bag. After almost four years of abusing this briefcase across city streets, up and down stairs, and as a trolley for boxes, it's time to get another one. To the cursory eye, it looks fine and other people would probably keep using it for another six months or so. But if you look closely, some of the stitching is getting frayed and the bottom of the briefcase is coming apart. But I think it's actually a testament to the product that it's held together thus far. I've kicked it, dropped it, stood on it, and my son has hurled it down the stairs. Perhaps I'll try another color but the red is still very eye catching and I get many compliments from colleagues.My husband bought me the new vertical McKlein as a replacement for the horizontal one that I had for almost four years. So far, I'm not as pleased as I was with the horizontal one. Yes, it would certainly go down narrow aisles (airplanes and classrooms) more easily. BUT because there is a smaller opening, it's harder to pry it open to get folders and other things into your bag. Hence, it's also tighter. I will give a follow-up review in a couple of weeks but so far I'm thinking of going to the trash dump and getting back my old McKlein.August 20, 2014I am coming around to my new vertical McKlein but one word of warning: If you are petite (I'm 5'1"), the vertical is harder to lug up and down steps since it's longer. I definitely will go back to the horizontal when this one expires in four years or so.September 2019I didn't realize it has been over 5 years since I got my second McKlein. It's now time to get my third one. It still looks great but the wheel is a bit wonky and the noise drives me crazy. Otherwise, this has been a great product. I've looked at other more expensive products and this one is definitely the worth the money. I am going back to the red horizontal bag.I bought this bag about a year ago (the green one!). I LOVE the eye-catching color and am happy that it is stylish and durable. I get a LOT of compliments on the bag and since purchasing, i've seen 2 more women at work with one. (i work in a BIG office building)As far as size, i've had occasion to need to fit 2 laptops into the bag. It is a tight fit but manageable. I have a sleeve from an older bag that i use w/ my smaller laptop to keep it from slipping around when i'm carrying just the one. No need w/ the 17" laptop. I have room for peripherals, cords, pens, notebook + ibuprofen and lip-gloss. ;)These are good quality wheels and roll smoothly on concrete, blacktop, carpet, etc. I love that the wheels zip off. The bag is not too heavy with the wheels on but noticeably much lighter when you take them off. This bag is just as stylish with the wheels off.Here is the con: the handle style, as you can see from the pictures, has been re-designed. Mine came with the inverted U handle, instead of the T. The telescopic part is not very durable and broke about 6 months ago - i tend to fling the bag up the stairs (a few at a time and then walk to catch up) and apparently, the handle can't take that twisting. :( Since the handle broke, i've been carrying the bag --- i REALLY need the wheels. I cannot find anywhere, even contacting the manufacturer, to buy just the zip on w/ wheels and handle part. This seems a waste. PLEASE make this available. I really want to get a new one w/ the T handle - it looks like it is built better. I wonder how i can know which type handle a new bag will have. hmmmI use this almost every day during the workweek. It has been very durable, even in light rain without the weatherproof cover.I carry legal-size folders the majority of the time, which usually house 100+ pages. Two 150-200 page folders can fit comfortably. Six to eight folders carrying less than 50 pages can fit comfortably. I fill the pockets with small supplies like hand sanitizer, thumbprint pad, sanitizing wipes, etc. I stick my pens on the outside pocket, but also carry ballpoint backups on the inside. I use one side of the bad for files and the other side for stamps. As a notary signing agent in California, I need to carry my notary journal, notary seal (stamp), and (not required) I carry 1x3 self-inking stamps for my notary journal.This bag fits all that and is easy to carry or wheel wherever I go.Highly recommend. Especially for signing agents.Ordered this briefacse so that I could carry my work and personal laptop. Most options look like lugguage rather than something to carry to the office. Love that it is detachable from the base and appreciate the included cover to protect leather and electronics from weather. One addition I would suggest.
