I bought these containers with hopes of putting to-go salads in them. Unfortunately, the snap-to-close mechanism works too well with the flimsy plastic that the containers are made of. As I finished creating (in my opinion) a salad masterpiece I closed the lid. After 20 minutes I opened the lid only to find that the lid was too shut. I proceeded to add a little more strength to my opening efforts and in result got a container that spit salad all over my jeans. I am sure that some people would appreciate a firm grip on a sandwich or something less messy than a salad but I do NOT recommend this item for all the salad lovers out there.
