After much searching for outdoor deck lighting for our colonial style house, I took a chance on these. I was a little concerned that the quality would not be as I generally think you get what you pay for. These are beautiful and a high quality light. I am not sure why a reviewer would say they were flimsy or cheap looking. The glass dome had no scratches and was a nice weight. The metal fixture/lamp was of sufficient hardness that it would not bend or be scratched. The quality of the details looked like the Amazon image and didn't have sharp or unshapely edges. These are a very nice looking light. My husband installed this in 15 minutes and said it was just like any other lighting installation. This was a great purchase.
