Taking a photo of this product felt like the episode of a sitcom many years ago where the protagonist was asked to film the wind. How do you take a photo of a mat which does its job of being visibly unobtrusive? I didn't want to use the word invisible but that is how it affects the room.I just laid a new hardwood floor on the room where I have my variable height desk and I wanted to make sure to protect the floor from abrasions and scuff marks. My variable height desk is on wheels and I also sometimes use a stool to sit on which is also on wheels. That means that things are occasionally being wslid around on wheels and little bits of debris can get under the wheels and scratch the floor. This mat gives the protection that I wanted along with only minimally affecting the visual aesthetics of the room. Unless lighting causes a reflection like you can see in the photo the mat almost doesn't disrupt the view of the flooring across the room. If I had wanted something to cover the appearance of the floor I would have gotten a rug. This mat protects and lets the floor show through.The mat arrived wrapped in plastic in the shape of a large tube. My immediate thought was that it would never lay flat. And I also hoped that it did not crack from being rolled up. I removed the plastic wrapping and laid the mat flat on the floor after cleaning the floor to make sure that I didn't trap debris under the mat. No cracks and after about 30 minutes the floor had settled down to being almost completely flat. By the end of the next day it looked like the mat had never been rolled.This mat is thicker than any other that I had seen in the past. It doesn't appear to damage the floor beneath it. And visually it doesn't take over the aesthetics of the room.This is a great product which I will buy again for the next room that I remodel.
