I bought these York Nordic Poles for a trip to Europe in July because they collapsed to fit in my small carry-on. I am 76 yrs and have balance issues and limp due to hip surgery ten years ago and I need the support double poles give me. These, like the other two pairs I own, have allowed me to keep walking miles daily. The length and set-up worked fine and I had 5 days in Germany and France before the screw evidently loosened and the blue tightening clasp fell off and was lost. I was able to continue our trip because I was using the poles at their shortest length (though they did slip with each step (5-8 miles per day for the next week). For someone using the taller setting, they would lose the use of the poles. Checking the tightness several times a day seems to be a requirement for continued use. I am waiting to hear if a replacement screw and blue clasp is available. I recommend buying the Assurian sport goods insurance policy.
